Kudos to Ted Stevenot
Many thanks to Ted Stevenot for choosing not to run for State Representative. Mr. Stevenot is the president of the Clermont County Tea Party, vice chairman of the Clermont County Republican Party and the chairman of the Union Twp. Republican Party which is the largest township in Clermont County. He was my very formidable opponent for several months and kept me scrambling to raise money and line up endorsements. “As Iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” With that in mind, I believe that Mr. Stevenot, as a competitor, has made me a better candidate.

New Endorsements
I'm happy to report that Ohio Gun PAC and Ohio Pro-Life PAC have endorsed my candidacy for the 65th State Representative District. Additionally, my first media endorsement is from the Clermont Post. I’m also the only candidate that they have chosen to endorse so far.

My additional endorsements for the 65th State Representative District include:
Family First PAC: They only endorse candidates who are the most fiscally and socially conservative. I am their first candidate to be endorsed for 2012.
CCV Action PAC: Citizens for Community Values Action only endorses pro-life and pro-family candidates. I am their first candidate to be endorsed for 2012.
Vickie and Phil Burress: He is the president of Citizens for Community Values. (His title is for identification purposes.)
Dr. Jack Willke: He is the founder and president of the International Right to Life Federation, president of the Life Issues Institute, and former president of National Right to Life.
Bill Federer: He is a national speaker, author and historian.
I've also signed the
Cut, Cap, and Balance Pledge, the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, and the No Climate Change Tax Pledge.
Past endorsements for Republican State Committeeman have included Carl Lindner, Buckeye Firearms ("A" Rating), Ohioans for Concealed Carry, COAST, Ohio Republican Party, Clermont County Republican Party, Union Twp Republican Party, Southern Ohio GOP Chairmen's Association, and other Republican Party leaders.

Becker for the 65th State Representative District
The 2012 Primary Election is 3 months away and early voting begins in January. I’ve raised over $25,500 and expanded my donor base to more than 300 people in five different states! Donation size has ranged from $1 to $1,000 and has averaged $55. All contributions have been from individuals only. You could donate for FREE! You may know that a $50 per taxpayer dollar-for-dollar tax CREDIT (It is $100 on a joint return.) is available every year. The “Ohio political contributions credit” is on line 55 of your Ohio IT 1040. Simply claim it on your state of Ohio tax return and get your money back. Contributions to candidates for State Representative (and other "state offices") qualify for this credit. That is why you will be able to help me, to help you, and have it cost you nothing. I’m Pro-Life, Pro-Gun, Pro-Limited Government and Lower Taxes. Please see the following brief videos regarding my candidacy:

3) No endorsements will be considered.

Kudos to Jean Schmidt
Congresswoman Schmidt scored 100 percent on the Campaign for Working Families - 2011 Congressional Scorecard.

Vote
You have until January 8th to vote for your favorite license plate slogan, phrase or fact that you think best describes Ohio. I voted for “With God All Things Are Possible.”

Beckerisms
First off, I’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
I’m curious about the payroll tax cut that is currently being debated in Washington. Considering the fact that Social Security benefits are based on earnings rather than contributions, the tax cut serves to accelerate the insolvency of the system. Why hasn’t anyone attached an amendment to reduce benefits in a corresponding amount to the tax cut? If I cut my IRA or 401(k) contributions, guess what will happen to my retirement income?
Please get those tax credit checks in before the end of the year.

Past Events
December 15, 2011
The Clermont County Tea Party hosted a successful Christmas party at the Miami Twp Civic Center. Ed Humphrey, Jeff Hardin, and Tina Sanborn were the only other elected officials that I saw. Many candidates attended.

December 11, 2011
Paul Odioso and I attended a Christmas party at the governor's mansion in Columbus. Many of my State Central Committee colleagues attended. Other than Governor Kasich, Josh Mandel was the only statewide official. When Paul and I were chatting with the governor, I inquired about plans to move forward with any components of SB5. No decisions have been made.

December 9, 2011
It was an eventful day that began in Sycamore Twp at 7:30 am. I had to leave early to attend the Clermont County Transportation District meeting in Batavia. The Clermont Chamber held their monthly legislative luncheon and featured Jeff Lykins. His presentation was very informative about the fuel distribution business. My day concluded with George Pattison being sworn in for Municipal Court Judge.

December 6, 2011
About 130 people attended the monthly Clermont County Tea Party meeting at the Eastgate Holiday Inn. Topics of discussion included the beetle infestation problem in Tate Township, the 60 minutes news segment regarding members of congress engaged in insider trading of securities, and the Clermont Liberty PAC membership application and requirements. The meeting concluded with President Stevenot reading from A Christmas Carol. Doug Green was the only other elected official that I spotted.

December 5, 2011
Nearly 20 people attended the Union Township GOP monthly meeting. Matt Beamer and Tina Sanborn were congratulated for their hard earned victories for UT Trustee and West Clermont School Board respectively. A spirited philosophical debate regarding the mission of the UT Central Committee consumed much of the evening. Presidential candidates, fundraising, and a web site were also discussed.

December 3, 2011
A variety of topics important to social conservatives were discussed at the Ohio Pro-Family Forum. The pro-life issues were most prominent.

December 2, 2011
Justices O'Donnell and Cupp were the special guests at the Republican State Central Committee meeting in Columbus. Mark Wagoner was sworn in as a new member. Charles Knight was sworn in as our new treasurer.
Darren Bearson reviewed the statistics and lessons learned in 2011. He stated that 1.3 million calls were made and 108,000 doors were knocked on for state ballot issues 2 and 3. About 1700 voters were "flushed" in 60 counties. He also gave a "new media" update. Kay Ayers talked about the new Hillsboro mayor and delegates for Newt Gingrich.
Much discussion occurred with regards to our new endorsement policy. Several amendments were offered. I voted YES on all of the amendments. Only one passed. I voted NO on the final product for the following reasons: 1) In some situations, each county is given an equal vote without regard to population; 2) the Ohio GOP could endorse candidates opposite of the county Parties endorsements creating competition confusing to the voters; 3) SCC members will be considered for endorsement. That is a controversial provision that many of my constituents find objectionable.
Chairman DeWine gave an "elephant in the room" speech and addressed the controversy with Governor Kasich. Mr. DeWine stated that he reached out to the governor and requested a face-to-face meeting. He called for Party unity and received a unanimous standing ovation.
