Ballot Issues
I've been asked several times about my thoughts on Issue 2. Let's take a look at the ballot issues one at a time:

State Issue 1
- Rights for Crime Victims (Marsy's Law).
Argument for it.
Argument against it.

I'm planning to vote YES simply because I like the arguments for it.

State Issue 2 - To require state agencies to not pay more for prescription drugs than the federal Department of Veterans Affairs and require state payment of attorney fees and expenses to specific individuals for defense of the law.
Argument for it.
Argument against it.

I'm planning to vote NO. The concept reminds me of
Nixonian wage and price controls. This is the antithesis of the free market. Squeezing the balloon at one end will force something bad to happen at the other. Will shortages occur? Will prices go up for other customers? Or both?

Ohio Supreme Court elevates themselves over General Assembly and rules against the people.
Ohio's high court has ruled that municipalities may ignore Ohio law and recommence using speed and red-light cameras for revenue generation.
I read through Article IV (Judicial) of the Ohio Constitution and could not find the legal authority for what is commonly known as "judicial review." However, I did find in Section 17 that judges can be removed from office upon a two-thirds vote of the General Assembly.

Judge shot in Steubenville
Fortunately, the judge was armed and able to shoot back. That might be the reason he is alive today and recovering. If judges are allowed to carry firearms in courthouses, why can't legislators carry guns in the statehouse? Regardless, I like the idea of all honest citizens having the choice to carry firearms for self-defense and the defense of others.

Ohio House of Representatives - My current active House bills:

HB 53 - Public Sector Right to Work

HB 233 - Decriminalization Effort for Ending Notorious Deaths (DEFEND). It decriminalizes so-called "gun free zones" for Concealed Handgun License (CHL) holders. This bill passed the House and is awaiting action in the Senate.

HB 333 - Eliminates the Ohio Marriage Penalty

Becker for State Representative
Ranked a top tier "most archconservative" by the Columbus Dispatch (September 2013).

"GOP Ohio House freshman Becker is no shrinking violet," headlined the Columbus Dispatch (December 2014).
Becker wins prestigious William Wilberforce Leadership Award (April 2015).
