The Becker explanation by actual ballot language paragraph:

First paragraph:

Establish in the Constitution of the State of Ohio an individual right to one’s own reproductive medical treatment, including but not limited to abortion.
Issue 1 paragraph 1 of 6 (emphasis added for explanation below)

Analysis:
What does “individual right” mean? Why doesn’t it say “woman’s right” or “pregnant mother’s right”? Is a child an “individual”? Does this “individual right” mean that “individual” children will have an unfettered constitutional right to abortion [the killing of an innocent, defenseless, and voiceless human being] without the consent or knowledge of her parents?
What does “reproductive medical treatment” include? Isn’t it true that all “individuals” have reproductive organs? Will an “individual” child have an unfettered constitutional right to “reproductive medical treatment” without the consent or knowledge of his or her parents?
What does “but not limited to abortion” mean? In addition to abortion, will an “individual” child have an unfettered constitutional right to “reproductive medical treatment” including dangerous cross-sex hormones, puberty-blocking drugs, and/or surgical alterations to reproductive organs without the consent or knowledge of his or her parents?
How do you think a liberal court would answer those questions?

Second paragraph:

Create legal protections for any person or entity that assists a person with receiving reproductive medical treatment, including but not limited to abortion.
Issue 1 paragraph 2 of 6 (emphasis added for explanation below)

Analysis:
Why doesn’t “any person” have any qualifiers? Will legal protections for “any person” include a rapist and/or sex trafficker who coerces a woman or “individual” child into any kind of “reproductive medical treatment, including but not limited to abortion”? Isn’t it true that a constitutional amendment supersedes any and all state laws to the contrary? Therefore, wouldn’t this amendment nullify state laws preventing rapists and pedophiles from taking an “individual” child to an abortion clinic [death chamber] without the consent or knowledge of his or her parents? Wouldn’t the rapists and pedophiles be protected by the constitution in this situation?
How do you think a liberal court would answer those questions? Perhaps, pedophiles are a vulnerable at-risk minority deserving protection; hence the Perfect Pervert Protection Plan.

Third paragraph:

Prohibit the State from directly or indirectly burdening, penalizing, or prohibiting abortion before an unborn child is determined to be viable, unless the State demonstrates that it is using the least restrictive means.
Issue 1 paragraph 3 of 6 (emphasis added for explanation below)

Analysis:
Isn’t it true that a constitutional amendment supersedes any and all state laws to the contrary? Therefore, wouldn’t all of Ohio’s laws regulating the sanitary, health, and safety of abortion clinics and protections for pregnant mothers (e.g., hospital admitting privileges) be considered to be “directly or indirectly burdening, penalizing, or prohibiting abortion”?
Wouldn’t Ohio’s parental notification law be nullified because it directly or indirectly burdens, penalizes, or prohibits an “individual” child from getting an abortion?
How do you think a liberal court would answer those questions?

Fourth paragraph:

Grant a pregnant woman’s treating physician the authority to determine, on a case-by-case basis, whether an unborn child is viable.
Issue 1 paragraph 4 of 6 (emphasis added for explanation below)

Analysis:
The “treating physician” is the abortionist. And the profiteering abortionist gets to determine viability.
Notice that “physician” is not defined. Is the “physician” required to be a licensed medical doctor (MD)?
Regardless, this paragraph is largely irrelevant due to the “health exception” provided in the last paragraph.

Fifth paragraph:

Only allow the State to prohibit an abortion after an unborn child is determined by a pregnant woman’s treating physician to be viable and only if the physician does not consider the abortion necessary to protect the pregnant woman’s life or health.
Issue 1 paragraph 5 of 6 (emphasis added for explanation below)

Analysis:
Again, the abortionist makes the decisions and “physician” is not defined.
The “viability” issue is a red herring. It and this paragraph are largely irrelevant due to the “health exception” provided in the next paragraph.

Sixth paragraph:

Always allow an unborn child to be aborted at any stage of pregnancy, regardless of viability if, in the treating physician’s determination, the abortion is necessary to protect the pregnant woman’s life or health.
Issue 1 paragraph 6 of 6 (emphasis added for explanation below)

Analysis:
And now the truth comes out! “Viability” has no relevance. The abortionist decides that the abortion is necessary for the pregnant mother’s “health.” That decision could be made at anytime during the pregnancy including the very moment of birth. Yes: Painful partial birth abortions would be guaranteed by the constitution for any “individual” including children without parent knowledge or consent. And our tax dollars will pay for it.
What does “health” mean? Wouldn’t an abortionist’s opinion of potential “health” conditions include physical, psychological, emotional, social, and financial health?
How do you think a liberal court would interpret a “health” exception? (Probably a much longer list, e.g., bad hair day.)

Courts have said health means financial, mental, and economic. So now we’ll have broad, on-demand abortion in this state.

Consider this “health” explanation from National Review:

The insertion of the word “health” in this provision without any qualification poses the added problem that arose under Roe, where the Supreme Court by judicial fiat also injected a “health” exception for any prohibition of post-viability abortion: Over the course of several abortion cases, the Court employed a notion of health so broad that, for many lower courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in an Ohio case in 1997, it was enough for a doctor to be willing to approve the procedure based on “emotional” and “familial” factors. This effectively permits abortion at any stage of pregnancy up to the time of birth.

Further commentary:
It’s best to understand how a liberal judge thinks: Logic and the plain meaning of words are not relevant. What is relevant is “doing the right thing” in the mind of a liberal judge. Therefore, the outcome of a case is predetermined followed by a tortured interpretation of the Constitution and law.

If the intent is to enshrine abortion rights for adult women up until fetal viability, this is the most poorly written document in the history of the republic. On the other hand, if the intent is to allow creative open-ended interpretations by liberal judges, then this is among the most brilliant documents ever written.

The abortion issue is a matter of competing rights. In my opinion, any human being’s right to life (with the exception of ectopic) supersedes the mother’s right to kill that human being. Frankly, I’m surprised that, in a civilized society, so many people share the opposite opinion. They have blood on their hands.

Summary and Conclusion

“Individual” includes all children regardless of age.
“Reproductive medical treatment” includes dangerous cross-sex hormones, puberty-blocking drugs, and/or surgical alterations to reproductive organs.
Constitutional amendments supersede any and all state laws to the contrary.
“Legal protections for any person” who “assists a person with receiving reproductive medical treatment, including but not limited to abortion” includes rapists and pedophiles who “assist” with abortions and/or sex change treatments and surgeries. Being as liberal courts would see pedophiles as a vulnerable at-risk minority deserving protection, this would be the Perfect Pervert Protection Plan.
Ohio’s current regulations for the sanitary, health, and safety of abortion clinics would be “directly or indirectly burdening, penalizing, or prohibiting abortion” and therefore unconstitutional.
Protections for pregnant mothers (e.g., hospital admitting privileges) would be considered to be “directly or indirectly burdening, penalizing, or prohibiting abortion” and therefore unconstitutional.
Ohio’s parental notification law would be nullified because it directly or indirectly burdens, penalizes, or prohibits an “individual” child from getting an abortion.
The word “viable” is included as a red herring in an attempt to fool voters into believing that it has some relevance. The “health” exception ensures that it does not.
“Physician” is not defined. A licensed medical doctor (MD) is not specified.
The abortionist would determine when a “health” exception exists allowing the pregnant mother (including an “individual” child) to abort at anytime including the day of delivery.
The “health” exception allows partial birth abortion.
The “health” exception includes psychological, emotional, social, and financial “health” (perhaps including a bad hair day.)
Abortions and sex change treatments would be enshrined in Ohio’s constitution as an unfettered right for all “individuals” including children. Parental knowledge and consent laws would be unconstitutional.
Taxpayers will pay the bills.
A liberal court would not limit themselves. Plan on creative interpretations and changing the meanings of common words.
The Ohio Supreme Court is just one election cycle away from flipping to a liberal majority.
By following the science of DNA and chromosomes, we know with metaphysical certitude that a preborn child, at every stage of development, is an innocent, defenseless, and voiceless human being with great potential.

The Becker explanation:

Definition: According to the DEA, “Marijuana is a mind-altering (psychoactive) drug, produced by the Cannabis plant.”
“The Controlled Substances Act (CSA) places all substances which were in some manner regulated under existing federal law into one of five schedules. This placement is based upon the substance’s medical use, potential for abuse, and safety or dependence liability.”
Schedule V: Anti-diarrhea, analgesics, and cough medicine.
Schedule IV: Xanax, Valium, and Ambien.
Schedule III: Tylenol with codeine, anabolic steroids, and testosterone.
“Schedule II drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with a high potential for abuse, with use potentially leading to severe psychological or physical dependence. These drugs are also considered dangerous.”
Examples: Vicodin, cocaine, methamphetamines, methadone, Demerol, OxyContin, fentanyl, Adderall, and Ritalin.
“Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse.”
Examples: Heroin, LSD, marijuana, ecstasy, and GHB (date rape drug).
Like heroin and LSD, marijuana is a schedule I drug and is illegal for any purpose, including medical.
Marijuana is well known to be a gateway drug to more addictive and deadly drugs. Furthermore, the perceived societal acceptance and advertisements for drug paraphernalia sends the wrong message to our children.
In the 1980s, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content was about three to four percent. Today’s pot is 10x and 20x more potent.
Regardless of Ohio law, marijuana in any form and for any purpose is illegal under federal law.

Ballot language and analysis:

Establish the cannabis social equity and jobs program and require the Department of Development to certify program applicants based on social and economic disadvantage.
Issue 2, paragraph 5 of 14 (emphasis added for explanation below)

Analysis:
“Social equity” and the like, are socialist constructs. Their goals are equal outcomes rather than equal opportunities. Consider this from PragerU: prageru.com/video/shocker-turns-out-diversity-equity-and-inclusion-dont-work

Define “social disadvantage” to include membership in a racial or ethnic minority group, disability status, gender, or long-term residence in an area of high unemployment.
Issue 2, paragraph 6 of 14

Analysis:
“Social disadvantage” is defined to promote racist and sexist discrimination.

Require the Division to provide preferential treatment to applicants who have qualified for the cannabis social equity and jobs program based on social disadvantage when issuing level III adult use cannabis cultivator licenses and dispensary licenses.
Issue 2, paragraph 8 of 14

Analysis:
“Preferential treatment” is state based discrimination favoring a socialist construct promoting racist and sexist policies.

Prohibit certain local government entities from limiting specific research, levying a tax, or charge on adult use operations, their owner, or their property not generally charged on other business, and prohibit certain local government entities from prohibiting or limiting adult use cannabis home grow or prohibiting or restricting an activity authorized by the proposed law.
Issue 2, paragraph 9 of 14

Analysis:
Unlike so-called “medical marijuana,” This provision completely removes local control and zoning. Dispensaries would be free to do business next door to schools, churches, parks, and day care centers.

Require the Division to enter into an agreement with the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services to create a program for cannabis addiction services.
Issue 2, paragraph 12 of 14

Analysis:
Addiction to marijuana has become such a problem that even the pro-pot people wrote it into their own proposal.

Provide for taxation of I0 percent on the sale of adult use cannabis by dispensaries in addition to usual sales taxes and require that all monies collected from the I0 percent tax levied to be deposited into the adult use tax fund and quarterly distributed as follows: 36 percent to the cannabis social equity and jobs fund; 36 percent to the host community cannabis facilities fund; 25 percent to the substance abuse and addiction fund; and three percent to the division of cannabis control and tax commission fund.

Analysis:
The 10 percent sales tax will be used to promote socialist and discriminatory so-called “social equity” as well as the addiction problem that will proliferate exponentially if this legislation passes.

Ask yourself this question: If Issue 2 passes, will drug addiction be a greater or lesser problem in Ohio?

Union Township welcomes new and growing businesses

Some of the below are pending trustee approval:

Mercy Health has broken ground for an urgent care center in the Jungle Jim’s parking lot in front of LaRosa’s. They’ll soon be repairing “broken” bones, skin, and more.
Children’s Hospital has submitted plans to build in the Ivy Pointe area near TQL. Our concerns have been “healed.”
Wawa will be taking over the old Mt. Carmel Kroger location. Rah-rah to Wawa for taking over a shuttered business.
Alfaa will be building on an empty lot on the corner of Aicholtz Road and Eastgate Blvd. I’m wondering if they sell alfalfa sprouts?
A local restaurant chain will be constructing a new location as part of a small strip mall on the corner of SR 32 and Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road on Yates Lane. I expect them to be rolling in dough soon.
The old Valero on the corner of Ohio Pike and Bennett Road is under new ownership. They will be tearing down the old building and constructing a new convenience and wine store. The previous condition of the property was certainly something to whine about.
Popshelf is planning a new location in the Cherry Grove Shopping Plaza. I’m looking forward to “popping” in.
Mercy Health Urgent Care will be caring for patients when their new location opens in the Cherry Grove Shopping Plaza. I’ll be “patient” while I await their grand opening.
Grocery Outlet is planning a new store in the old Bed, Bath, and Beyond location in the Eastgate Pavilion near Best Buy. They are expecting to “produce” profits.
A Hilton Hotel has been perpetually under construction near the Hampton Inn and Meijer’s. They have made certain “accommodations” and residents can “sleep well” knowing that construction has recommenced.
Construction is on-going at the Glen Este Chick-fil-A to improve and expand their restaurant and drive through lanes. No more playing “chicken” in the two merging drive through lanes. Now that’s something to “cluck” about.
Vandalia Rental is “gearing up” to move into the old Ohio Mulch location on Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road near the Days Inn.
Bubbakoo’s is “cooking up” plans to be successful and is now open for business.
Kay Jewelers is looking at a “golden” opportunity to locate a store near Sportsman’s Warehouse.
Panda Express is looking to raze the car wash next to the Union Township library and build a new location there. It’s an “appetizing” venture.
Honda East will be “shifting gears” to “rev up” sales by expanding their operations in Cherry Grove. They might “tire,” “brake,” and “shock” you, but they are “on a roll.” Wouldn’t it be nice if they offered free samples?
Inter Parish Ministry has a food pantry under construction across from Gold Star Chili in Mt. Carmel. It’s expected to be a “full-filling” experience.
PetSuites is “grooming” a new location on Old SR 74 next to Office Max. The lot has been cleared and is ready to begin construction.
TQL will be adding an additional 1,000 jobs at its sprawling UT campus. The new southern wing will look similar to their recently added northern wing. The project is “trucking” along. “Total Quality” will be a “Logistic” requirement.
Kroger has “crushing” plans to demolish Sears and build a new 123,722 square foot Kroger Marketplace store detached from the mall. The store will include a Starbucks, drive through pharmacy, expanded deli, expanded bakery, a Murray Cheese section, sushi, expanded adult beverage section, apparel, home goods, expanded grocery section, and a Kroger fuel center with 18 fuel pumps. The fuel will be on the recently shuttered Wendy’s side of the parking lot. The northeast side of the store will have a parking area for on-line pickup. The current Kroger store on Eastgate Boulevard will likely close in coordination with opening the new Kroger Marketplace store.
Outback Steakhouse will be “firing up” a new restaurant near Meijer’s where the old Starbucks and a video store used to be. Construction has begun. The “stakes” could be high and profits are expected to “sizzle.”
Chase Bank will be relocating their Eastgate location to Eastgate Blvd near Big Lots. They are hoping to “cash-in” on the move.
Taco John’s is planning to build a new restaurant near the Sam’s Club fuel pumps near Steak n Shake. We didn’t “grill” them at the Trustee’s meeting.
