The Becker Report – June 2024

Beckerisms

“Guilty”

Donald Trump found “guilty” by kangaroo court, partisan Democrat judge, and Democrat Manhattan jury

Rather than a fair trial, it was a show trial. The whole world watched the miscarriage of justice and lawfare that the Democrats have proven themselves capable of.
The “jury of his peers” was a cross section of liberal Democrats from Manhattan. They were led by a Democrat judge and Democrat prosecutor fulfilling a campaign promise. Really? That was a fair trial?
Considering that the “conviction” was a flagrant theft of justice, it begs the question about the 2020 election. Maybe Trump was right all along. Maybe the 2020 election was stolen from justice. Maybe it really was rigged.

Trump – Biden Debate

Well, President Biden didn’t wander off or attempt to shake hands with a ghost. Some would call that a win. But his physical and mental frailty was quite evident on stage. Additionally, he needed to get escorted off of the stage by his wife.
Now that the major media can no longer pretend they never knew, they are now reporting it as if it is new news.
These quotes are from Gary Bauer’s End of Day Report (6/28/2024):
“I watched the Biden-Trump debate . . . and it made me weep. I cannot remember a more heartbreaking moment in American presidential campaign politics in my lifetime — precisely because of what it revealed: Joe Biden . . . has no business running for re-election.”
–New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman

“I hope he [Biden] reviews his debate performance . . . and withdraws from the race.”
— New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof wrote.

“I think it was a f***ing disaster. I think it was maybe the worst debate I’ve ever seen in my entire life. . . Joe Biden, in every single way, failed at that debate.”
–Obama speechwriter Jon Faverau

“That was painful. . . He didn’t do well at all. . . He had a test to meet tonight to restore confidence of the country . . . and he failed. . . There is time for this party to figure out a different way forward.”
— CNN commentator Van Jones

The New York Times is extraordinarily incompetent, but at least they got this headline correct: “To Serve His Country, President Biden Should Leave the Race.”

A final note about CNN

On the topic of exceeding expectations, I expected Trump to be debating both moderators in addition to Biden. To their credit, and despite their on-going and long time hatred of Trump, Jake Tapper and Dana Bash chose to be facilitators, rather than participants, in the debate. Kudos to them for their professionalism.

Union Township welcomes new and growing businesses

Some of the below may be pending trustee approval:

  • Grocery Outlet is now open and expected to “produce” profits.
  • PetSuites is now open on Old SR 74 next to Office Max. Their customers have been barking ever since.
  • Panda Express is looking to raze the car wash next to the Union Township library and build a new location there. It’s an “appetizing” venture. The overpass construction is delaying their start date. This project is beginning to look like a 2025 completion.
  • Mercy Health urgent care center is under construction in the Jungle Jim’s parking lot in front of LaRosa’s. They’ll soon be repairing “broken” bones, skin, and more.
  • Children’s Hospital is under construction in the Ivy Pointe area near TQL. Our concerns have been “healed.”
  • Wawa will be taking over the old Mt. Carmel Kroger location. Rah-rah to Wawa for taking over a shuttered business. They expect demolition to begin soon and completion early next year.
  • Alfaa will be building on an empty lot on the corner of Aicholtz Road and Eastgate Blvd. I’m wondering if they sell alfalfa sprouts?
  • A small strip mall is coming to the corner of SR 32 and Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road on Yates Lane. I expect them to be rolling in dough soon.
  • The old Valero on the corner of Ohio Pike and Bennett Road is under new ownership. They will be tearing down the old building and constructing a new convenience and wine store. The previous condition of the property was certainly something to whine about.
  • The Home2 Suites is expected to open in August. They have made certain “accommodations” and residents can “sleep well” knowing that it is expected to open soon.
  • Honda East will be “shifting gears” to “rev up” sales by expanding their operations in Cherry Grove. They might “tire,” “brake,” and “shock” you, but they are “on a roll.” Wouldn’t it be nice if they offered free samples? Construction is expected to begin in this summer with completion in late 2024 or early 2025.
  • TQL will be adding an additional 1,000 jobs at its sprawling UT campus. The new southern wing will look similar to their recently added northern wing. The project is “trucking” along. “Total Quality” will be a “Logistic” requirement.
  • Kroger has “crushing” plans to demolish Sears and build a new 123,722 square foot Kroger Marketplace store detached from the mall. The store will include a Starbucks, drive through pharmacy, expanded deli, expanded bakery, a Murray Cheese section, sushi, expanded adult beverage section, apparel, home goods, expanded grocery section, and a Kroger fuel center with 18 fuel pumps. The fuel will be on the recently shuttered Wendy’s side of the parking lot. The northeast side of the store will have a parking area for on-line pickup. The current Kroger store on Eastgate Boulevard will likely close in coordination with opening the new Kroger Marketplace store. All plans are currently on hold pending litigation with the owner of the Eastgate Mall.
