State of Ohio Flips from Pro-Life to Pro-Abortion

Settled Law?

Not yet. All of the protections in Ohio law for parents, pregnant mothers, and children surrounding this issue will eventually get overturned by courts as unconstitutional. The question is when, not if.
Did any of the below win on the ballot?
Follow the science? Nope.
Human rights? Nope.
Protecting the innocent? Nope.
Death to the unwanted? Yep.
Death to the inconvenient? Yep.
Death to the conscience of Ohio? Yep.
In order to restore some or all of those protections, the General Assembly will need to move forward with a new constitutional amendment to repeal or modify the grizzly pro-abortion amendment passed by the voters. The abolitionist battle is not over. It’s just in a new phase.

Although I personally oppose slavery, who am I to tell someone else what they can do with their property?

Pro-choice argument, circa 1860

American Medical Association once accurately predicted what would happen if society embraced abortion
Btw, I keep hearing in the media that partial birth abortion can’t happen in Ohio due to a federal law against it. Really? What about the federal laws against all forms of marijuana?

Although all forms of Marijuana are Illegal under Federal Law, Ohio Voters Approve Drug Abuse and Addiction

Not Settled Law

Fortunately, this issue can be tweaked by the General Assembly. This won’t be “settled law” until sometime next year or until the federal government enforces their own laws.

Covid

COVID Lockdowns Were a Giant Experiment. It Was a Failure. A key lesson of the pandemic.
Sen. Ron Johnson demands FDA, CDC disclose when they learned about COVID jabs’ link to child seizures
Michigan professor exonerated, peer-reviewed journal publishes paper showing 250k+ COVID jab deaths
FDA-funded study finds stroke risk rises 20-35% for elderly who get both COVID and flu shots
Insurance industry execs ‘alarmed’ by surge in deaths among young people, but stop short of blaming COVID jabs

A Huge COVID Confession
The New York Times editorial board made a huge confession Saturday. It came just days before Thanksgiving, so most Americans probably didn’t notice. But I noticed because, once again, some on the left are having to concede that conservatives were right. Of course, the New York Times did not admit that.
But it did admit what we and many conservatives have said all along: The closure of our schools during the COVID pandemic was the biggest educational disaster in history.
We lost 20 years of progress in math and reading. The Times editorial notes that the fallout will linger for years as chronic absenteeism remains a huge problem even now. For two years children were told that school wasn’t essential, and they got the message.
As a result, “Economists are predicting that this generation, with such a significant educational gap, will experience diminished lifetime earnings and become a significant drag on the economy.”
The worst part about all of this is that it was totally avoidable. This was a huge, self-inflicted wound. It wasn’t required by the reality of the health crisis we were facing.
We knew children were at very little risk of serious illness and death from COVID. Children were far more likely to die from car accidents, drowning or cancer than COVID. That’s why most European schools quickly reopened or never really closed at all.
But every big city in America closed their schools. Why? Because people like Anthony Fauci scared everyone to death. And the left-wing teachers’ unions acted like unions instead of teachers responsible for educating our children.
When the COVID vaccines became available, teachers were given priority, sent to the front of the line to get the vaccines, just like first responders, because we needed them to go back to work. But they refused.
Congress approved nearly $200 billion to make our schools safer. But the unions demanded zero risk. It was so bad that Joe Biden’s CDC would not issue school reopening guidelines without first getting approval from the leftist teachers’ unions bosses.
There was one prominent political figure in America who kept saying, “Open the schools!” That was Donald Trump. But Randi Weingarten, president of a major teachers’ union, accused Trump of “playing with kids’ lives.” Some even claimed it was “racist” to reopen our schools. (Seriously, you can’t make this up!)
It ended up that the people who really didn’t care about our kids were Biden’s bureaucrats and the radical teachers’ unions, who deprived our children of the education they desperately needed.

Union Township welcomes new and growing businesses

Some of the below may be pending trustee approval:

  • Vandalia Rental has “geared up” and is now open for business at the old Ohio Mulch location on Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road near the Days Inn.
  • Construction has been completed at the Glen Este Chick-fil-A. Their restaurant and drive through lanes have been improved and expanded . No more playing “chicken” in the two merging drive through lanes. Now that’s something to “cluck” about.
  • Mercy Health has broken ground for an urgent care center in the Jungle Jim’s parking lot in front of LaRosa’s. They’ll soon be repairing “broken” bones, skin, and more.
  • Children’s Hospital had their ceremonial ground breaking and has begun construction in the Ivy Pointe area near TQL. Our concerns have been “healed.”
  • Inter Parish Ministry has a new food pantry that is now open for business across from Gold Star Chili in Mt. Carmel. It’s expected to be a “full-filling” experience.
  • Chase Bank will be relocating their Eastgate location on December 18 to 4611 Eastgate Blvd near Big Lots. They are hoping to “cash-in” on the move.
  • Wawa will be taking over the old Mt. Carmel Kroger location. Rah-rah to Wawa for taking over a shuttered business.
  • Alfaa will be building on an empty lot on the corner of Aicholtz Road and Eastgate Blvd. I’m wondering if they sell alfalfa sprouts?
  • A local restaurant chain will be constructing a new location as part of a small strip mall on the corner of SR 32 and Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road on Yates Lane. I expect them to be rolling in dough soon.
  • The old Valero on the corner of Ohio Pike and Bennett Road is under new ownership. They will be tearing down the old building and constructing a new convenience and wine store. The previous condition of the property was certainly something to whine about.
  • Popshelf is planning a new location in the Cherry Grove Shopping Plaza. I’m looking forward to “popping” in.
  • Mercy Health Urgent Care will be caring for patients when their new location opens in the Cherry Grove Shopping Plaza. I’ll be “patient” while I await their grand opening.
  • Grocery Outlet is planning a new store in the old Bed, Bath, and Beyond location in the Eastgate Pavilion near Best Buy. They are expecting to “produce” profits.
  • A Hilton Hotel has been perpetually under construction near the Hampton Inn and Meijer’s. They have made certain “accommodations” and residents can “sleep well” knowing that construction has recommenced.
  • Kay Jewelers is looking at a “golden” opportunity to locate a store near Sportsman’s Warehouse.
  • Panda Express is looking to raze the car wash next to the Union Township library and build a new location there. It’s an “appetizing” venture.
  • Honda East will be “shifting gears” to “rev up” sales by expanding their operations in Cherry Grove. They might “tire,” “brake,” and “shock” you, but they are “on a roll.” Wouldn’t it be nice if they offered free samples?
  • PetSuites is “grooming” a new location on Old SR 74 next to Office Max. The lot has been cleared and is ready to begin construction.
  • TQL will be adding an additional 1,000 jobs at its sprawling UT campus. The new southern wing will look similar to their recently added northern wing. The project is “trucking” along. “Total Quality” will be a “Logistic” requirement.
  • Kroger has “crushing” plans to demolish Sears and build a new 123,722 square foot Kroger Marketplace store detached from the mall. The store will include a Starbucks, drive through pharmacy, expanded deli, expanded bakery, a Murray Cheese section, sushi, expanded adult beverage section, apparel, home goods, expanded grocery section, and a Kroger fuel center with 18 fuel pumps. The fuel will be on the recently shuttered Wendy’s side of the parking lot. The northeast side of the store will have a parking area for on-line pickup. The current Kroger store on Eastgate Boulevard will likely close in coordination with opening the new Kroger Marketplace store.
  • Outback Steakhouse will be “firing up” a new restaurant near Meijer’s where the old Starbucks and a video store used to be. Construction has begun. The “stakes” could be high and profits are expected to “sizzle.”
  • Taco John’s is planning to build a new restaurant near the Sam’s Club fuel pumps near Steak n Shake. We didn’t “grill” them at the Trustee’s meeting.
