My father died in 1965. My mother raised four children alone. At three years old, I was the youngest. My parents are now buried side by side at St. Stephen Cemetery in Ft. Thomas, Kentucky. Their souls are now together, in heaven, for eternity.
During the six years my mother lived in an assisted living facility in Florence, Kentucky, my wife and I visited with her weekly. My sister was there daily. (My brothers don’t live near here.) I routinely posted about our visits on social media and from time to time included a photo.
For her final three years, my mother lived at SEM Haven in Milford, Ohio. My sister visited with her weekly. I visited with her at least five days each week. Although I largely stopped with the social media posts, I’d still occasionally get asked about her.
When first admitted to SEM Haven, she was asked about what she wanted to do there. “I just want to die,” my mother responded.
Well, she’d been saying that since she was 80 years old. That’s when her physical problems became burdensome. Mom was ready to go. She would routinely ask God why she was still alive and why He wouldn’t take her.
Mentally, my mother remained sharp for her first 100 years. That was a blessing that slowly began to slip away. It was painful to watch her slow yet steady decline as the years went by.
We got hospice involved as it appeared the end was nearing. They interviewed my mother with my sister and me in the room:
How can I describe the anguish when my mother said she didn’t know either of us? Shocked, hurt, crestfallen; that’s a start. God wanted us to empathize with the so many other families who have experienced that pain. Yeah, it hurt. Frankly, it still does.
The morning my mother passed, my sister got there first and called me. As “the strong one,” I notified my brothers and drove to SEM Haven to console my sister. No, I was the one who needed consoling:
As I lifted my mother’s cold, lifeless hand to hold one last time, I cried helplessly for several minutes. That was unexpected yet understandable. Sometimes it’s good to just let it out; and then let go.
I guess that’s why I’ve written this: to get it out there, let go, and move on.
As a final note, the staff and management at SEM Haven were wonderful. The facility has my highest recommendation.
Additionally, although we worked with them only briefly, Queen City Hospice was also exceptional. They were with my mother and comforted her as she took her last breath.
For decades, I preached about the critical need for the United States to explore, pump, refine, and pipe petroleum products for national security reasons. Finally, President Trump has made us largely self-sufficient and a net exporter of energy products. Below my radar was rare-earth minerals, their processing, and electronic components.
What could go wrong? Did anybody think that might be a problem? It appears we might need a Manhattan Project to source critical materials here in the U.S.
White House Ballroom
Why was demolition of the East Wing a surprise to the media?
Well, my guess is President Trump actually wanted it built rather than perpetually litigated.

President Trump is on a roll. He has engineered multiple peace deals saving lives worldwide. The latest is the ceasefire between Israel and the Hamas barbarians who started the war.
Gun Safety?
They used to call it “gun control.”
Everybody supports gun safety. At least that’s something we all agree on. I call that progress. The NRA, BFA, and other groups offer training programs for gun safety and marksmanship. It’s always better to have a gun and not need it than to need a gun and be unarmed. I’ve always been a believer in having the ability to shoot back. Nobody should have to be a victim. John Becker Talks Trash in Union Township
Keep our community clean. Please don’t litter. Every Day is Earth Day in Union Township. Let’s Make Union Township Clean Again. Union Township messaging will hopefully bring awareness to the litter problem and make our community a cleaner place to live, work, and play. John Becker’s gearhead trash talk video (6 minutes)
The following is where I’ve been picking up trash (servant leadership): October 25, 2025 – My usual areas along Rumpke Road and Old SR 74, then all of Eastgate Boulevard from Old SR 74 to Aicholtz Road. I cleaned up the Big Lots parking lot, the area around Men’s Wearhouse, and the top portions of the on-and off-ramps for SR 32. October 11, 2025 – Part of Rumpke Road, two sections of Old SR74, part of Marian Drive, and Bach Buxton Road from Shayler Road to Clough Pike. October 4, 2025 – I got a “911 emergency call” about a trash “explosion” at Valley Wood Drive and Bach Buxton Road. (Okay, it was really a private message from a constituent on Nextdoor.) So I grabbed my gear and took care of it. September 20, 2025 – Lower part of Rumpke Road and Old SR 74, covering all four corners of Eastgate Blvd. to down past the creek. Bach Buxton Road from the big bend at Provision Living to Shayler. September 6, 2025 – The lower portion of Rumpke Road and Old SR 74 from Glen Este-Withamsville Road to Eastgate Blvd. August 23, 2025 – My usual areas along Rumpke Road and Old SR 74 from the creek to the Public Storage facility beyond Eastgate Blvd. Additionally, Bach Buxton Road from Old SR 74 to beyond the big bend at Provision Living and the ramp to Eastbound SR 32. July 12, 2025 – Bach Buxton from Shayler Road as far as the big bend at Provision Living. Also, my usual area at the bottom of Rumpke Road and along Old SR 74 from the creek to all four corners of Eastgate Blvd. June 21, 2025 – Locust Lane cul-de-sac; sections of Rumpke Road; Old SR 74 from the creek to Eastgate Blvd.; Bach Buxton Road from Shayler Road to Clough Pike. May 31, 2025 – Parts of Rumpke Road to east of the creek on Old SR74 and west to the I-275 overpass. Eastgate Blvd. from Old SR 74 to Eastgate North Drive. May 10, 2025 – All of Shephard Road from Tealtown to the end. Rumpke Road from Fox Creek to Old SR 74. Proceeded down to the creek on Old SR 74 and then up to Eastgate Blvd. and did all four corners there. April 12, 2025 – Part of Shephard Road until my trash grabber broke. March 22, 2025 – Rumpke Road from Tall Trees to Old SR 74 and Old SR 74 from just east of the creek to Eastgate Blvd. December 21, 2024 – Eastgate Boulevard from SR 32 to Aicholtz Road. Top of the exit ramp from eastbound SR 32 to Eastgate Blvd. Top of the entrance ramp from northbound Eastgate Boulevard to eastbound SR 32. Old SR 74 from Eastgate Boulevard to the creek east of Rumpke Rd. Rumpke Road from Tall Trees Drive to Old SR 74. December 14, 2024 – Bach Buxton Road between SR 32 and Clepper Lane. (I’ve now done all of Bach Buxton from SR 32 to Clough Pike.) Also, the area around Rumpke Road and Old SR 74. December 7, 2024 – Bach Buxton Road from Mt. Carmel Christian Church to Clough Pike. Also stopped to pick up “large litter” along a different section of Bach Buxton Road as well as the Eastgate Boulevard overpass. Additionally, I did an expanded area around Rumpke Road and Old SR 74. It included the lower portion of Rumpke Road and Old SR 74 from the creek to the Public Storage building. November 16, 2024 – Bach Buxton Road between Valley Wood Drive and Redleaf Drive in front of the main entrance to West Clermont High School. Just over a week ago, Americans watched a fellow American being assassinated for exercising his rights as an American. It is not actually a historical stretch, but true, that the last time a prominent private American citizen in the public eye who was neither a politician nor a candidate for office was assassinated was April 4, 1968. What James Earl Ray meant for evil, God meant for good. The assassination of Dr. King galvanized the Civil Rights movement. What Tyler Robinson meant for evil, God meant for good. Yesterday, in Phoenix, AZ, a hundred thousand Americans heard not just the gospel message, but Christ’s message on the cross. Tens of millions more heard the same message across the nation and around the world.
A Big Disconnect In the wake of Charlie Kirk’s assassination, a major polling firm asked Americans which side—Left or Right—is mostly responsible for political violence. Thirty-three percent said the Left is mostly responsible, while 29% said the Right is mostly responsible, and 24% said both sides were equally responsible for political violence in America. How can a majority of Americans be so confused? You have to be living in an alternative universe to believe it’s both or mostly on the Right. Just look at the headlines from recent years. • A radical leftist tried to assassinate Donald Trump in Pennsylvania. • A radical leftist tried to assassinate Donald Trump in Florida. • Radical leftist Luigi Mangione assassinated a healthcare executive. • Radical leftist Tyler Robinson assassinated Charlie Kirk. • A left-wing antisemite used a makeshift flamethrower trying to burn Jews in Colorado. • A radical transgender leftist tried to assassinate Justice Brett Kavanaugh. • Radical leftists attacked churches and crisis pregnancy centers after Roe v. Wade was overturned. • Radical transgender leftists firebombed Tesla dealerships. • Radical transgender leftists murdered Christian students in Nashville and Minneapolis. • Radical transgender leftists tried to assassinate immigration police officers in Texas. • Radical leftists are rioting in Portland against immigration enforcement. I know the fake news media won’t do us any favors. But maybe elected Republicans should stop saying, “It’s both sides,” and aggressively reject any suggestion that political violence is coming from anywhere but the Left.
It’s been entertaining watching liberals hyperventilate over the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel. Where were they during Covid? What about conservatives on college campuses? Well, they support censorship of opinions opposite of their own.

John Becker, CTP, MBA for Clermont County Auditor???
Well, let’s talk about that.
I’ve been VERY happy serving as a Union Township Trustee. Since becoming a Trustee in January 2022, I’ve had no ambitions for any other office and had intended to retire from public service as a Trustee. (Other than my small tax accounting business, I’m retired from the private sector.)
Clermont County’s current Auditor, Linda Fraley, is retiring. She and her staff have done an outstanding job running the Auditor’s office. That doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement, but I don’t know of any major changes that need to be made.
A “draft Becker” movement is afoot. Multiple people, whose opinions I respect, have approached me and suggested I run for Auditor. I’m now considering it. (And my wife prefers that I be in Batavia rather than at home “all the time.”)
The Auditor position is a tough job. The office has a lot of complex responsibilities that are critical to residents, businesses, and county functions including payroll.
So why me? Why is there a “draft Becker” movement? Well, I can assure you it’s not because of my illustrious personality and good looks. 🙂 (Hey, I’m the anal accountant type.)
Remember when President Obama weaponized the EPA to shut down coal plants? Guess what happens when the production of electricity is reduced (supply) and demand increases?

Since the 1979 Islamic Revolution, the clerical regime in Tehran and its proxies have committed a range of attacks against Americans. This memorandum provides select documentation of these assaults. While the list is not comprehensive, it demonstrates that Tehran continues to pose a threat to U.S. forces in the Middle East, the American homeland, and Americans residing across the globe.
November 1979-January 1981: Iranian students — with the backing of Tehran — take 66 Americans hostage at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran.
April 1983: A suicide car bombing kills 63 people, including 17 Americans, at the U.S. Embassy in Beirut. The Iran-backed terrorist group Islamic Jihad, a precursor and early branch of Hezbollah (not to be confused with Palestinian Islamic Jihad), claims responsibility.
October 1983: Operatives of the Iran-backed Hezbollah drive a truck bomb at a Marine compound in Beirut, killing 220 U.S. Marines and 21 other service personnel.
December 1983: Hezbollah operatives drive an explosives-filled dump truck through the gates of the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait City. No Americans are harmed.
March 1984: Terrorists kidnap CIA station chief William Buckley in Beirut, subsequently torturing and ultimately killing him in 1985. Islamic Jihad claims responsibility.
December 1984: Hezbollah terrorists hijack Kuwait Airways Flight 221 on its way from Kuwait to Pakistan and divert it to Tehran, killing two American officials from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
June 1985: Hezbollah terrorists hijack TWA Flight 847 en route from Athens to Rome and kill a U.S. Navy diver.
July 1989: Hezbollah operatives kill U.S. Marine Corps Col. William Higgins after kidnapping him the previous year while on a United Nations peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon.
April 1995: An explosives-laden van crashes into a bus near Kfar Darom in the Gaza Strip, killing one American and seven Israelis. Palestinian Islamic Jihad claims responsibility.
August 1995: A Hamas suicide bomber blows up a bus in the Ramat Eshkol neighborhood of Jerusalem, killing an American and three other passengers and wounding more than 100.
February 1996: A Hamas suicide bomber blows up a Jerusalem bus, killing three Americans and wounding three other Americans. A total of 26 people die in the attack.
March 1996: A suicide bomber blows up the Dizengoff shopping center in Tel Aviv, wounding two Americans. Twenty people die and 75 others are injured in the attack. Both Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad claim responsibility.
May 1996: Gunmen kill an American-Israeli dual citizen in the community of Beit El in the West Bank. Another U.S. citizen and three Israelis are wounded. No group claims responsibility, but Israel suspects Hamas or Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
June 1996: A truck carrying 5,000 pounds of explosives blows up the Khobar Towers, a U.S. Air Force housing complex in the Saudi Arabian town of Khobar. Nineteen Americans die and some 500 people are injured. The Iran-backed Hezbollah Al Hijaz, a terrorist group in Saudi Arabia, is deemed responsible.
September 1997: Three Hamas suicide bombers blow themselves up at the Ben Yehuda shopping mall in Jerusalem, killing a U.S.-Israeli dual citizen and wounding seven other American citizens. Four other people die and nearly 200 are wounded in the attack.
August 1998: With the assistance of Hezbollah, al Qaeda suicide bombers almost simultaneously blow up the U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 224 people, including 12 Americans, and wounding thousands. According to the 9/11 Commission Report, al Qaeda developed “the tactical expertise for such attacks months earlier, when some of its operatives — top military committee members and several operatives who were involved with the Kenya cell among them — were sent to Hezbollah training camps in Lebanon.”
August 2001: A Hamas suicide bomber blows up the Sbarro pizzeria in Jerusalem, killing a U.S.-Israeli dual citizen and two other Americans. A total of 15 people die in the attack.
September 11, 2001: While the 9/11 Commission Report concludes that Iran had no foreknowledge of al Qaeda’s attacks on the World Trade Center, the report indicates that Tehran facilitated the travel of some of the terrorists. “In sum,” the report notes, “there is strong evidence that Iran facilitated the transit of al Qaeda members into and out of Afghanistan before 9/11, and that some of these were future 9/11 hijackers.”
January 2002: Gunmen affiliated with the Iran-backed al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade kill a U.S.-Israel dual citizen and wound another individual in the West Bank community of Beit Sahur.
July 2002: A bomb planted by a Hamas terrorist kills five Americans at Jerusalem’s Hebrew University, killing five American students, including an American-Israeli dual citizen and an American-French dual citizen. A total of nine people died in the attack.
June 2003: An American citizen, along with 16 other people, died when a Hamas terrorist blew himself up on a bus in Jerusalem.

About that ventilation shaft at Fordow…
I’ve not heard this addressed by any of the so-called “experts” in the media: Supposedly, a ventilation shaft was visible from satellite images as the “perfect” place to drop a bunker buster. The Gulf War in the 1990s showed a missile getting dropped down a chimney from high altitude. The world was impressed. Have the Iranians forgotten about that capability? Assuming not, wouldn’t they have been wise to construct fake ventilation shafts and/or construct them horizontally? Regardless, our military is extraordinarily impressive!
Eastgate Mall – Kroger Marketplace update: This is from the June 10, 2025 Union Township Trustees meeting: I reviewed 653 pages of court records contained in more than 30 documents and exhibits. Hull Group alleged breach of contract (covenants). Kroger argued that the covenants no longer serve a useful purpose and should be discarded by the court. The crux of the matter is that Kroger wants to build a new store very close to the current footprint of Sears and facing SR 32. The Hull Group wants Kroger to build their store closer to SR 32 and facing toward the current location of the Mall. According to the site plan submitted into evidence, potential new stores include Academy Sports, Marshal’s, and Menard’s. Interestingly, Kroger stated that one of the reasons they bought Sears was to “box out” Costco. On April 19, former State Representative Ron Hood unexpectedly passed away. He and I served in the Ohio General Assembly together and collaborated on multiple pieces of legislation.. Ron was a friend and a mentor. He will be forever remembered as one of Ohio’s greatest and most conservative legislators. Ron was only 55 years old. He left behind five children. Four are under 18. Their mother died of cancer a few years ago. Most important of all, Ron was a committed Christian. RIP, Ron Hood.
The “Maryland Man” There is more news on the “Maryland man,” aka Kilmar Garcia, who is now the Left’s patron saint of open borders. When Tennessee Highway Patrol officers stopped him and found eight people in the van he was driving, the officers knew something was up. They suspected human trafficking, but Biden’s FBI told the officers to release them, which they did. We just learned that the van Garcia was driving was owned by a convicted human trafficker, an illegal alien sentenced to prison in 2020. So, just to recap: • Garcia had restraining orders against him for beating his wife. • Two courts determined he was a member of MS-13. • He was stopped while trafficking human beings in a van owned by a convicted human smuggler. How could anyone possibly be against this “Maryland man”? (Yes, I’m being sarcastic.) He’s like the “California man” who murdered 13-year-old Omar Hernandez. Or the “Georgia man” who murdered Laken Riley. Or the other “Maryland man” who was just arrested for murdering his girlfriend. Of course, they are all illegal aliens. But in a ludicrous attempt to disguise that fact, Democrats and their media allies are referring to them as if they were constituents and state residents. Democrats probably assume that they’re voters, too. They’re certainly treating them that way! I’m not exaggerating. In 318 reports in recent weeks, CNN and MSNBC referred to Garcia as a “Maryland man” more than 500 times, while referring to his illegal status only 32 times. The point of this propaganda is to scare you into thinking that you or any other citizen could be the next person to be detained and deported. It’s dishonest, and it’s demagoguery!
Proposed Income Tax and Bond Issue for the West Clermont School District.
This is the other ballot issue for your consideration. It has two components:
It imposes a 0.25 percent earnings tax (income tax on earned income) on all residents (without reciprocity) in the West Clermont School District for 30 years. Social Security, pensions, interest, and dividends are not “earned income.”
Furthermore, it imposes a 1.77 mills additional property tax.
The Union Township Republican Party has endorsed a NO vote on this issue.

Electric Aggregation
For those of you getting notifications from Duke regarding your electric generation provider, the current aggregation rate expires in May. At the time renewal was due, we could not get a price that was better than Duke’s. That’s why you’re going back to Duke. However, since then, we have penned a new aggregation agreement that is slightly better than Duke’s. Therefore, you’ll get another letter switching you again, unless you opt out. The new rate is 9.19¢ per kWh with Dynegy, starting with the June 2025 bill and continuing through June 2026. The rate is fixed and with no cancellation fee. Sorry for the confusion. More information is here: utclermont.gov/170/Energy-Aggregation If you wish to permanently opt-out of electric aggregation, click here: community.puco.ohio.gov/p/s/electric-do-not-aggregate-form or call (800) 686-PUCO (7826). If you wish to manage your own provider, click here to get started: EnergyChoice.Ohio.gov

So, when did I become a grandpa? When people would casually ask, “How are things going for you, John”? I would generally respond with something like, “Well, the only way my life could be better is if I were a grandpa.” In August 2024, my daughter informed my wife and me about the great news. We were beyond ecstatic.! We, of course, shared the great news with other family members and friends. On multiple occasions and beaming with joy, I expressed the words, “Great news!, I’m a grandpa!” As the months went by we got reports of the prenatal visits and such. All was well. The successful delivery was in February. His name is Jackson and his birth weight was 7 pounds, 12 ounces, and 21 inches long. Mom, dad, baby, and grand parents are all doing well. Praise the Lord!
Babylon Bee | Fake News You Can Trust
10 Irrefutable Pro-Abortion Arguments To Destroy Your Pro-Life Friends
Debates about abortion can be challenging, especially when you have aggressively pro-life friends who insist on destroying your “reproductive rights.” The Babylon Bee has put together the following list of surefire arguments you can use to silence your baby-loving friends once and for all:
“Babies are just parasites”: They’re literally the exact same thing with no differences whatsoever.
“The ancient Mayans killed lots of babies, and look how great things turned out for them”: If they did it, so should we.
“You’re a racist”: There is no way to refute this.
“Having a baby goes right to your hips”: Your life is supposed to be all about you, and you have to make sure you look your best.
“The baby might not be rich enough to afford the latest iPhone”: A fate worse than death.
“Babies will make you miss out on Friday nights getting black-out drunk at the club”: Babies are a serious buzzkill.
“Babies are basically womb colonizers”: You have a duty to fight back against the spread of colonial oppression.
“If you make a person, someday that person will die”: Pro-lifers basically want people to die.
“Elon Musk is already having enough kids for all of us”: Any more kids would just be overkill.
“If you have a baby, your life might be filled with love and smiles and baby giggles”: Who wants that?
As soon as you whip out any of the arguments above, you can be sure that any of your pro-life friends will be completely owned and have no other option than to get rid of their babies. Down with happiness!

NBL Noble Chicken has opened an additional franchise on the corner of Beechwood Road and SR 32. Now that’s something to cluck about.
Rumpke will begin construction of a $12 million indoor waste and recycling transfer facility. The facility will also have public recycling stations available for residents and businesses to utilize throughout the year. It will be located off of Round Bottom Road within the northern-most portion of the Champion’s Way development. It won’t be “trashy.”
Cincinnati Sands Volleyball is also planning to build off of Round Bottom Road just north of Hamilton Safe. Township permits have been issued and they are waiting on county permitting. Cincinnati Sands Volleyball will be “serving” the public.
Primrose School is planning to build in Ivy Pointe north of Sharefax Credit Union. The Township has issued the zoning permit and they are in process at Clermont County Permit Central. It will be a “smart” looking building. It represents another $8 million – $10 million in investment within the Ivy Pointe Commerce Park.
A VA Clinic is under construction in Ivy Pointe north of the Children’s Hospital site. “Salute.” They expect to complete construction in the Fall of 2025.
The old Glen Este High School site (approved by a prior Board of Trustees) consists of three projects either completed or under construction. When complete, about 1,150 units will be available. “Dwell” on that.
Starbucks has razed the old Taco Bell “Tom Yum” on Ohio Pike near Bach Buxton, and they are gearing up for construction activity on the site.
New construction continues at the Wyler Empire on SR32. They have “shifted into high gear” and are building a used car superstore. The structure is coming along well.
The Winding Creek recycling operation continues to take shape.
Panda Express has razed the car wash next to the Union Township library and will build a new location there. It’s an “appetizing” venture. The overpass construction is delaying their start date.
Children’s Hospital is under construction in the Ivy Pointe area near TQL and is expected to be fully open by the end of this summer. Our concerns have been “healed.”
Wawa is taking over the old Mt. Carmel Kroger location. Rah-rah to Wawa for taking over a shuttered business. Demolition is complete and ground preparation has begun. Construction is expected to be complete in late 2025.
McDonald’s has submitted plans for a new restaurant next to WaWa. We have completed an initial zoning permit review, and are waiting on the site survey to achieve the lot split prior to issuance. (The survey is currently pending review at the County.) Will Donald Trump be serving fries there?
Alfaa purchased and submitted plans to build on an empty lot on the corner of Aicholtz Road and Eastgate Blvd. UT has issued the zoning permit. I’m wondering if they sell alfalfa sprouts?
A small strip mall is coming to the corner of SR 32 and Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road on Yates Lane. I expect them to be rolling in dough soon. A zoning permit has been issued. No start date has been announced. It appears that some site mobilization activities have begun.
The old Valero on the corner of Ohio Pike and Bennett Road is under new ownership. The plan is to remodel and expand a convenience and wine store. The previous condition of the property was certainly something to whine about.
Honda East will be “shifting gears” to “rev up” sales by expanding their operations in Cherry Grove. They might “tire,” “brake,” and “shock” you, but they are “on a roll.” Wouldn’t it be nice if they offered free samples? We received plans for a zoning permit, with the expectation that they will be addressing comments early in 2025.
TQL will be adding an additional 1,000 jobs at its sprawling UT campus. The new southern wing will look similar to their recently added northern wing. The project is “trucking” along. “Total Quality” will be a “Logistic” requirement.
The Kroger Marketplace slated to replace the old Sears store is on hold pending litigation with the owner of the Eastgate Mall.

Becker wins prestigious William Wilberforce Leadership Award (April 2015). “GOP Ohio House freshman Becker is no shrinking violet,” headlined the Columbus Dispatch (December 2014). “Becker…is arguably the most conservative member of the Ohio House,” said The Cincinnati Enquirer (January 2014). Ranked as a top tier “most archconservative” by the Columbus Dispatch (September 2013).

The following is where I’ve been picking up trash (servant leadership): Nothing in January or February 2025 When wet, trash is too heavy to carry. When cold, trash is frozen to the ground. When snowy, what trash? Additionally, I did the area around Park Bank and Rumpke Road. November 9, 2024 – Bach Buxton Road from Shayler Road to Valley Woods Drive. Also, Old SR 74 from Park Bank to the creek. November 2, 2024 – Bach Buxton Road from Clepper Lane to Shayler Road. Also Old SR 74 from Pet Suites to the creek. October 26, 2024 – Eastgate Blvd from Big Lots to Old SR 74 and the area around the intersection of Eastgate Blvd and Old SR 74. October 19, 2024 – Old SR 74 from Eastgate Blvd to the creek and the Rumpke Road intersection. October 12, 2024 – Rumpke Road from Tall Trees to Old SR 74 and Old SR 74 to the creek. October 5, 2024 – Clepper Park.

Union Township welcomes new and growing businesses
Some of the below may be pending trustee approval:
The shuttered Cherry Grove BP gas station on SR 125 is under new management and open for business.
The Cove, a 16,000 square-foot mixed-use commercial center adjacent to the roundabout at Eastgate Blvd. and Ferguson Drive, was approved by the Township Trustees in January. The proposed building is intended to house retail space on the first floor, as well as a drive-thru area for a restaurant or coffee shop (on the west side of the building)—with office space planned for the second floor. The project has not yet advanced beyond the initial Trustees zoning plan approval stage.
Grace & Gather, and social club for young children (primarily elementary school age) and families, will occupy the former daycare and educational facility at 4132 Mt. Carmel Tobasco Road.
Mercy Health urgent care center is now open for business in the Jungle Jim’s parking lot in front of LaRosa’s.
NBL Noble Chicken will be opening an additional franchise on the corner of Beechwood Road and SR 32.
Construction of the 242 dwelling unit Westmont Apartment project and the 268 dwelling unit first phase of the Vision Development is ongoing at the old Glen Este High School site. “Dwell” on that.
A new development is approved for the area north of the Echelon apartments on Glen Este – Withamsville Road. Although not finalized, the new businesses appear to include The Works Pizza, By Golly’s Bar & Grill, and more. Well, I guess that is “the works.” This project is being “reset” and will change moving forward—as Bad Tom Smith Brewing is out (and may change further). I’m not sure on when this project is moving forward—or if these businesses are still all going to be involved.
Construction is expected to be complete in early 2025.
“…John Becker, an ‘archconservative’ former state lawmaker from the Cincinnati area…” as described by Cleveland.com (February 2021). “[State Rep. John Becker,] one of Ohio’s most conservative lawmakers…” proclaimed Cleveland.com (October 2020). “Clermont County State Rep. John Becker, one of the most conservative members of the Ohio House…” according to Cleveland.com (August 2019).
